Summer Inshore Action in Saint Andrew Bay
Saint Andrew Bay - Bay, FL
Summer is in full swing here in Panama City, and the inshore bite is living up to its reputation for being both fast and reliable. As we move deeper into July, the early morning hours remain the "golden window" for anglers looking to hook into quality fish before the mid-day heat sets in. We are seeing plenty of activity on the grass flats, where topwater lures are proving irresistible to hungry Speckled Trout and patrolling Redfish. The stealth of the early morning light gives us a massive advantage, allowing us to sight-cast to these predators in the shallows before the sun gets too high.
As the day progresses and temperatures rise, we have been shifting our focus toward deeper structure. The Mangrove Snapper bite is currently excellent around local bridges and channel markers, providing consistent rod-bending action that is perfect for families or groups looking to fill the cooler for dinner. We’ve also seen steady numbers of Spanish Mackerel moving through the open waters of the bay, often feeding on bait schools near the surface. For those targeting a larger fight, the outgoing tides continue to push bull Redfish around the structure, which makes for an unforgettable battle on light tackle.
We are also still seeing occasional Tarpon migrating through our coastal waters. These silver kings are always a challenge, but their presence adds an extra layer of excitement to any outing. Whether you are a beginner looking to land your first fish or an experienced angler chasing a trophy, the variety we are seeing right now across Saint Andrew Bay, East Bay, and Grand Lagoon makes this one of the most productive times of the year.
Our calendar is currently open for the remainder of the summer season, but prime morning spots are moving fast. If you are ready to get on the water and experience the best inshore fishing in Panama City, now is the time to secure your date. We invite you to book your fishing trip with us today, or if you have questions about specific targets, you can always check out our fish species guide to see what we’ll be chasing on your next charter. We look forward to seeing you on the boat!
